Born in El Salvador and raised in Los Angeles, Alexander received a real-world PhD in fashion in front of the camera as a model for the likes of Steven Klein, Patrick Demarchelier and Ruven Afanador. Over his 26 year modelling career Alexander honed his eye and learned from the greats. He was influenced and schooled by the editors and stylists he worked with; from the avante-garde chic of Patty Wilson to the sublime elegance of Tonne Goodman. Living and working all over the world has given him both an unparalleled insider’s knowledge of the business and a global perspective on style.

To further his desire to create work behind the camera he began working behind the scenes with photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. That led to him being hired full time by visionary stylist Marie Chaix as her 1st assistant. Over the next three years he would work with Marie on many high end luxury fashion advertising campaigns and editorials. He then began styling his own projects. His work has appeared in Schön, Untitled, Spirit & Flesh and Zodiac. He is currently contributing fashion editor at LUCY’s magazine. He has created images with Greg Kadel, Matt Licari, Martha Skovro and many others. Always cutting edge in his view he blends an encyclopedic knowledge of street style with a love of the craft of couture to create unforgettable looks.

As an artist Alexander Garcia’s aim is always to create images that stand the test of time while immersing the viewer in a world created by him and his collaborators.
